STARBASE Savannah is located on Hunter Army Airfield – the first one ever to have been established on an Army installation.
The goal of STARBASE is to raise interest and improve children’s knowledge and skills in science, technology, engineering and math. Local fifth graders from across Savannah experience a week of “hands-on” activities and interaction with military personnel to explore careers and observe applications in the real world.
Last week, we had Otis J. Brock, III Elementary School here with us! Ms. Douglas’s class was interviewed about what they want to be when they grow up and how it relates to STEM! It was a pleasure having this group with us 😊

STATES OF MATTER!!
Andrea B. Williams Elementary participated in our parachute activity, learning the different states of matter using Ping-Pong balls. The students always have a blast during this activity. Burning energy but also learning simultaneously! 😄

Esther F. Garrison School for the Arts has joined us here at STARBASE Savannah this week! Pictured here, they are participating in learning the different types of energy with our STARBASE lesson “Energy Explorations.”
